1974 Pantera For Sale
Jerry Pentaleri's 1974 DeTomaso Pantera, absolutely awesome in every way. One-original owner purchased new at delivered port-of-entry in Newark, NJ in September of 1974. The car never even landed to its "owning" dealership. Since then has been meticulously stored, enjoyed, shown, and refurbished to a modern degree of performance, driveability, and sophisticated style. Has won a shelf's worth of trophies and awards, including 1st place at the Pocono Italian Concours show for most streetable Pantera, and the Las Vegas POCA (Pantera Owners Club of America) annual gathering for most distance travelled.
There is a litany of unique features on the car, but I'll highlight just a number of them for interested parties:
** Only Pantera in the world with fully-functional custom-fabricated fixed dual headlamp conversion featuring dual halogen lamps. Special headlamp polycarbonate clear plastic lenses.
** Body color-coded matching front and rear bumpers including entire engine bay and top engine covers
** Front dash bulkhead reinforced at the steering column location.
** A single articulated wiper blade driven by a dual-speed heavy-duty wiper motor with unibal control links.
** Heavy-duty Mustang II rack & pinion. Installed with bump steer correction.
** Nickel-plated halfshafts with grease fittings on all universal joint bearings. Timken bearings in rear upright housings.
** 3-piece 17" modular HRE wheels, mounted to Goodrich G-force tires.
** Brembo brake calipers at all four corners against 13" vented rotors. Proportionate valve to control brake balance.
** Completely polished ZF transaxle blue printed and fitted with taller final ratio, 3.55 ring and pinion.
*** Replaced original Cleveland 351 with a Windsor SVO Block 6.5 liter (396 cu. in.) with
* Crower chrome moly crank and rods
* Wiseco forged pistons
*Crane roller cam and hydraulic roller lifters
*Jessel roller rockers
*Canfield aluminum heads, 11:1 Compression
*Electromotive TEC II Total Engine Management System (fuel injection and ignition)
*Engine delivers 475hp and 465 ft.lb. torque at rear wheels, total of 625hp at the flywheel.
*** Original dealer MSRP window sticker included.
Let me state again: this Pantera has only 12,554 original miles on its chassis, and under 4k miles on the Windsor racing engine. Finished in a beautiful metallic Midnight Blue with 4 clearcoats and fitted with a custom seashell gray leather interior.
This particular Pantera is absolutely one-of-a-kind and has been kept lovingly and carefully by its original only owner who has decided it is time to move on to another piece.
Though seemingly high, if it were a stock Pantera, we feel it is priced fairly given its immaculate condition and sophisticated and modern modifications.
